You’ve sent out the party invitations and chosen a theme, now you just have to get the dinner table ready for your get-together. Place cards are a must-have not only for directing your guests to their seats, but also for creating a polished and put-together dinner table. Feel free to steal any of these creative ideas for your place cards:
Use custom embossers
Put a personal touch on your place cards by using a custom embosser. This tool allows you to create elegant and professional-looking place cards with ease. Imprint your guests’ initials or use the embosser to spell out their whole name.
Get creative with food
Help your place cards look even more appealing by adding some food to the mix. Glue a little paper flag with your guest’s name on it to a toothpick, and stick it in the top of a mini doughnut or a croissant. This would be an adorable way to decorate for a brunch. Place the food item adorned with the paper flag on a small plate for a simple table setting display.
Decorate coffee filters
You can use items you already have in your home and transform them into place cards. Coffee filters, for instance, can be decorated with watercolors. Place a piece of parchment paper inside the coffee filter so that the colors don’t bleed through, and use the watercolors to paint whatever design fits the theme of your party. If you’re simply throwing a summer event, draw on a few flowers and write the guest’s name underneath. Once the filter is dry, remove the parchment. You can then place silverware inside the filter for a stylish way to set your table.
