Cute ways to display cards in your home

Birthdays, graduations, weddings, baby showers, holidays – all of these events warrant cards as a way to celebrate that particular affair. Birthday cards, congratulations cards and holiday cards that you receive from friends and family are all special and those cards deserve more than just to be shoved into a drawer or set on the counter. Proudly put all of the stationery you have received on display with these unique ideas:

Hang decorative ribbons
Create a beautiful focal point on any door in your home by hanging two or three strips of colorful ribbon from the top. You can attach tiny clothes pins or clips to the vertically hanging ribbon using a hot glue gun. Then, adorn your door with all of your cards by slipping them into the clips.

Gather branches
Looking for a nature-focused display idea? Grab a large, decorative vase and fill it with a variety of twigs and twisty branches. Punch a tiny hole in the corner of your card and hang it on the branch using ribbon, twine or string. The rustic display can be placed in your entryway for the perfect conversation piece or use it as a focal point in the living room.

Dress up your mantel
Your fireplace mantel is a great place to put photos and decorative pieces on display, so consider using this area to show off your photo cards. Use a two-by-four piece of weathered wood and cut two grooves into it using a circular saw. This way, you can easily slide in your cards and they will stay perfectly propped up.

Place under glass
Forget about a coffee table book for entertaining guests. Instead, have a piece of glass cut to fit the table and place all of your cards in a collage-like fashion underneath the glass. The cards will never be susceptible to rips, tears or spills, and everyone will be able to admire them.

Use old shutters
Shutters can be used for more than shading windows. If you have old shutters lying around, you can hang them up on your walls for a vintage way to show off all of your cards. If the shutters aren’t in great shape, bring them back to life with a simple coat of paint in a shade that matches the rest of your interior. Simply slip the stationery into each slot in the shutters for a creative display.

Frame them
Framing each individual card might be a lot of work, so opt for one large frame instead. String some wire or twine across the length of the frame and use clips to hang your cards in a visually pleasing arrangement. You can also use a piece of chicken wire to fill up an empty frame for a fun card display with country charm. If you have stacks of cards you would like to display, purchase a few different sized frames and hang them throughout various rooms in your house. This way, you can have a display for the bathroom, one for the kitchen and another for the living room.
