News and Insights from the World of Greeting Cards

Posted by at 11 February , 2009

Yes, once again the price of a First-Class stamp is increasing. Effective May 11, 2009, a First-Class stamp is going up 2 cents to 44 cents. But fear not, you can run out today and stock up on Forever Stamps at the current 42 cents and be unaffected by the increase in May. Forever Stamps are sold at the current price and can be used, you guessed it… forever!

Seems like only yesterday but it was the same time last year that the rate was raised a penny to 42 cents. At that time we reminded everyone, don’t forget to buy your Forever Stamps and here we go again. These First-Class stamps do not have a price printed on them so will work for mail sent anytime in the future. They are the stamps with the Liberty Bell on them and the words, “USA First Class Forever” printed down the side. You’ll be money ahead by investing in them now, before the rate goes up again.
Forever Stamps
Considering the distance a stamp can send a hand written and personalized greeting from one person to another across the entire U S of A, this is still quite a bargain. There remains no substitute for thoughtful and well timed greeting cards. Emails and phone calls are great for immediate communication but a hand signed and mailed card means so much more and can be kept and remembered forever, just like these Forever Stamps! Spread the word, buy now and save. No coupon or promo code required!
