Holiday cards are a great way to strengthen existing business partnerships and encourage new ones. Holiday cards help you stay connected with friends and family too. Whether for business or pleasure, here are some points of etiquette to be considered before this year’s cards go in the mail.

1. Consider the recipient. With so many attractive holiday cards to choose from, what should you look for when selecting the perfect card to send? You first need to consider the recipients. A card that says, “Merry Christmas” may not be appropriate for business as not everyone on your list may celebrate this religious holiday. A “Happy Holidays” or “Season’s Greetings” sentiment may be the better choice so as not to offend anyone.

2. Choose quality cards. The cards you send are an extension of your business and professional image. Very nice looking card designs with matching envelopes on top quality card stock are available at affordable prices. Personalization and custom imprinted verses add a touch of elegance as well. If unsure, work with a vendor who will furnish a sample so that you can confirm the quality before you make your purchase. From a high end unique layered card design embossed and stamped in foil to value cards that are thoughtfully designed and personalized, choose the best option for you and your budget.

3. Personalize. Nothing is more professional or of a higher perceived value than a personalized holiday greeting. Printed in ink or foil, many card designs also allow your company logo to be included as well or feature die cut windows through which your imprinted company name can be seen. You might also want your actual signatures printed as well.

Times are tough but don’t let holiday cards be a budget casualty this year. Keep spirits up and friendships close by sending seasonal greetings to all your friends, family, customers and business partners, even if you might think them an unjustifiable expense.

Consider these money saving holiday card tips:

A holiday card is a very personal approach to staying connected and much more valuable than an email or phone call. You can purchase a lovely personalized card for less than $1.50 each, including postage for 200 names on your contact list. You can save even more with larger quantities.

For less than $1, and that includes the stamp, you can send charming holiday postcards. The personal gesture of friendship is still there and your thoughtfulness is certain to be appreciated.

Send a holiday card with a gift card enclosed or mention of a donation to a charity instead of the usual basket of fruit this year.

Holiday calendar cards are affordable and will be proudly displayed for the entire year. With your company name or logo printed on it, this is certainly affordable advertising and money well spent.

When personalizing your holiday cards, go ahead and print a money savings coupon right on the card itself. This is a great way to send thoughtful wishes for the season and encourage business at the same time.

Continue the holiday card tradition and maintain and grow friendships while staying within budget this year. The joy and pleasure you bring to others will come your way in return.

What does “Pending Availability” mean? When will it be available?

At times you will see a notice under a card design that says Pending Availability. There are a number of reasons why this disclaimer might appear. At CardsDirect we are constantly updating our card offerings. New cards are continually being added and some cards retired.

When a new card is added there are a number of technical support functions that must be implemented. The specifications must be uploaded on our site, the card must be photographed and the card descriptions you see by each one must be written. With over 1,500 active cards on our website, at times a card may appear on the site before everything is in place for you to enter your order. For this reason you may see “Pending Availability” under a specific design.

Often a card is simply not yet active because it is meant for another season and not yet ready to be promoted. The 2009 calendar cards are examples of cards that will become active this month but may have appeared as pending up to this point. Not many will want to mail a 2009 calendar just yet.

With cards being added and retired regularly, it is best to check back later to see if the card has been taken off “pending” and is now available. We cannot guarantee that a pending card may become active during the current season so if you cannot find another design that interests you, please do give our customer service professionals a call to confirm availability.

We believe that with so many wonderful designs from which to choose, the difficulty is more in narrowing your card selection to just one. We sincerely hope that you will find an alternative to a pending availability design but please do contact us if you have any questions. Our goal is your happiness!

We all love to receive greeting cards during the holiday season. Each one that arrives in the mail, causes us to pause for a moment to enjoy the lovely picture and verse. Whether it comes from a family member, friend, customer or business associate, we stop to think about the person who sent it. Then we give it a place of honor by hanging it on a wall or placing it in a basket as part of our Christmas decorations. Then, sometime around the New Year we put away the lights and tree, throw out the dead mistletoe and sort through the cards. Some of them have addresses that need to be saved, but most of them go into the trash. Throwing away those beautiful cards gives us pain, but there just isn’t room to keep them all. The few that catch our attention and escape this indignity are the Christmas Calendar Cards,

That’s right. Most of us will keep a card that has a calendar. It is something useful. We will hang it on a bulletin board or on the refrigerator door. All year long it will remind us of the company or individual that sent it.

These Christmas Calendar Cards from CardsDirect are designed in a handy Z-Fold format that comes with a standard size envelope. They unfold into a distinctive full color 12 month 2007 calendar. As with all of the cards you purchase from CardsDirect, prices include four lines of personalized imprint so that your customers can have easy access to your location and phone number all during the year. This is a good reason to send Christmas Calendar Cards.

The other day I was shopping for office furniture and noticed a calendar card on the wall that had been sent to this store by their insurance provider. Quickly I realized how valuable these greeting cards really are. Not only had I noticed the card and the company that sent the card, but it must be valuable to the store owners if they have kept it up on the wall all year long. This certainly must come in handy when calling this insurance provider, rather than flipping through a rolodex or the phone book, the number is right there on the wall! Calendar cards have staying power, rather than being removed from display sometime in January these cards are up on the wall in full view and being put to good use!
